We have had several visits from local parents and children in the last week. It is wonderfully motivating to see the excitement of these children when they get to try our aircraft. Many adults who accompany the kids are also interested and excited!

Please get involved in our Young Eagle Rally coming up on May 10th and join the fun! We need people teaching and flying. Aviation education in the community is part of our mission and these are our future pilots!

After teaching continuously for 15 years (and 10,000 hours), serving as Chief Instructor of the 141 school, and FAA Designated Pilot Examiner for the last 10 years, recognition is a good thing. Burn-out is an occupational hazard in this profession. David has been selected out of all the CFIs in the Eastern Region as "CFI of the Year for 2008." Hopefully this is not an end but a continuing commitment for our Chief Instructor and manager.

We are grateful every day for the maintenance guys who keep us running! We rely heavily on the essential services of people like Jerry Friedman (L) at Taughannock who usually installs and fixes our radios but also swings a wrench when called. He keeps us flying. Don McAnn and Allen Staff (R) at Finger Lakes Flying Service have done several annuals for us. They are very thorough, quick and professional. Thanks guys!
