O.A.R. NEEDS...

New Volunteers!

We need new volunteers to work with inmates in the Tompkins County Jail. Community members are needed to provide counseling and support. All are welcome, but we extend a special invitation to those who are able to volunteer during summer. Reach out and make a difference! Students can earn college credit by completing a two-semester internship. Volunteers need not work in the jail; we always need office help too. Please call O.A.R. at 272-7885 or email us.

Winter Clothing

The Drop-In Center tries to maintain a stock of clothing for clients without means. This is especially critical in an Ithaca winter.

Funding

O.A.R. is funded by Tompkins County, the City of Ithaca, United Way, the New York Division for Youth, and private foundations and donations. We welcome your support for our efforts to promote equal justice in our community.

Books Through Bars

With enthusiastic leadership of committed volunteers, we are initiating "Books Through Bars" to provide free books to local jail and prison inmates. We believe that inmates deserve access to materials that offer education, entertainment, and self-empowerment. If you would like to donate books, time, or funds to this new program, please call the Volunteer Coordinator or email us.
